Me and this XPS !!

Hi ppl! today, i had trouble with my laptop as usual ! first i tried booting it in Fedora, but it started out only in the verbose mode ! Then i had to start up my vista and search the net for articles on how to change the verbose mode to xwindows.

After a long search, I found out that changing the initird file in the /etc/ directory would change the it to the gui mode. And what do you expect ? I logged into the verbose mode and tried editing the initird file ! but guess what happened ? I forgot how to operate the vi editor it was total shame for me, a CS Engineer not to properly remember the basic Linux vi commands.

But i was not one to be put off with such a small problem ! i successfully typed help vi, and read all the instructions !! thanks to those ppl!

By the way, I am still at niit ! so dont expect me to sound much coherent , but i am still going to write my third certification exam tomorrow !! Bye ! i've got a class to attend

Ambidextrous

Hi ppl!
In this world dominated entirely by mortal concerns , it pains me to hear that people are not skilled enough to make use of their own physical capabilities, wasting away their life and fitness in a couch or a comfy chair.

I unwittingly was a part of this society until now, which led me into believing that I was a right hander ! Then what about my poor left hand ? Why was it forced to do only the menial and mundane jobs !

Just because some fool was incapable of doing a job correctly doesn't mean the job cant be done!
In this specific case, the fool here is the world, which has long lost its capability to function normally with both its hand.

This is not only true in the metaphorical sense, but also in reality. The inequality in the human society has drastically increased , and so have the economic rifts.
The very terms "right hand" in the context of a person means that he is a staunch supporter, thereby suggesting the undue importance given to right handedness.

I do wish to reform myself and thus , i will proceed further on the path to ambidexterity !This decision is my own, and I cherish it as deeply as my decision to succeed! I shall resume my endeavors at a later date, and you will find me either in great plight or great delight !

There's another reason for this seemingly strange activity. Ambidexterity promotes the analytical and logical thoughts of the brain, thus easing the life ! So i feel that it must be a great experience to fully use both parts of my tiny brain :-)

P.S : As a beginner's exercise, i typed the entire article with my left hand !!

Day 1 Success ... decisions too

Hi PPl. The title is obvious.

Progress can only be slowed down, never stopped. It might take a while to start again, but once it is on the path, things rapidly change . I learnt it the hard way.Yet I am happy that I am going in the right path.

It is a decision that leads to pain , pleasure or fame. Not all decisions affect us. Not all decisions are important. But the important thing is that.. you can make decisions whenever you feel like.

You can make them and forget them, you can make them and take them .. you can do all sort of stuff. It is purely your decision. But you need to be considerate in involving others in your decisions.

I have made certain decisions too. . . something which may affect my future.. I have decided that one day, I will establish an organisation of my own. I will work in the better interest of the world.

These are independent decisions, no one can force them, but what I wish to emphasize is that, it you can't decide what you want to do .. if you just wander aimlessly, you will get nothing more than a bit of comfort ... that same comfort which the plants and trees enjoy.

There is a very important role played by conscience in the making of decisions. If you do not involve your conscience, you become an immoral person... a sociopath or a psychopath. You cant decide right or wrong, you cant decide who your allies are, you cant even decide whether you should sleep or not.

Now ..I have decided to take a leave. and hope that I did not impose my own decisions on you ppl

Return of Phani

Hi PPl. i have returned to this place yet again, but this time, i will not be defeated like I was last time. This time, I have mastered the art of conversation, and will not let you down. It is also a part of my belief that whatever I have been trying to do is in severe conflict with my ambitions and aims.I also realize that communication is the only thing that can make a difference ...in a big way. I wish to convey all my regards .. blah blah blah

The most important thing in this .. I returned to blogging. As I said, if i don't write, I lose familiarity with English. Though I am supressing my enthusiasm, I would not leave an opportunity to write.
so you can see regular updates from my side.

The inconsistency of the world in understanding the feelings of an individual is at its zenith, and the individual's understanding of the world is in a totally a different perspective. The world measures purely in physical terms like money, age, fame etc, but the individual measures it in terms of Friends, help , and kindness.

Contrasting them is impossible, both are truly essential, but when it comes to which is more important, only the wise ones choose to keep their "individual" part front, and the "world or society" part after them..

May your brains ponder as a group , or decipher as an Individual, I do not mind, but It has been a pleasure to revive my writing skills

Themez

Hi Friends . I downloaded this theme from the web ,and to me, it looks good.
I have been upto some nasty works of late ... I got a 99.36% in the SIM CAT 4 held by IMS.
I got selected to the debate on non conventional energy resources and their viability in India, to be held at OU.
I have my exams from the 11th of August.
I have to buy a Khadi dress( another stupid rule from the College Management.)
I have started orkutting actively. I am downloading an 18.8 Gb photoshop extreme tutorial.
Hope it completes this week. I also created a new wordpress account, namely ..
phanichalla.wordpress.com

Nothing much going on in life. I have to maintain a firm stance on my views of expression and enjoyment, pertaining to a few incidents that occurred in the recent past.
Firstly, what do you do when a friend of yours borrows your "noise isolating ear buds worth 800" and does not return them after repeated requests... ?
Secondly, what do you do when his "normal earphones", which were originally meant to be used for 1 day, was entrusted to another friend who lost them ?
Also, I am wasting a lot of time nowadays. I do hope to restrict my incompetence.

Phani vs Phobia

In my childhood, when my schooling started, I lived in the world of Arithmophobia , thinking I was the only person trapped in it. A few years passed, and then I became familiar with Xenophobia. Talking was a sin in my world now, but I still managed it many times. Then I got acquainted with a computer, which infected me with anthropophobia !

It took me several years of my early life to get rid of all of these phobias' , but I have become addicted to old habits though no fear really persists. I have started breaking down barriers around me one by one, but at the same time being careful and wary of unnecessary intrusions.

My friends are numerous, but I have no means of keeping in touch with them constantly. Any effort to reach out to all of them is too cumbersome, not because of laziness or ineptitude, but to to the sheer effort and time it consumes.

I have decided to keep a single place for all my contacts who want to keep in touch with me,
( phanichalla.freeforums.org ), where we discuss common matters. This blog however, is my personal area, governed by none but me.

If you suddenly thought of my phobias', there are some still lurking in dark corners of my heart, but will not trouble us in the near future. So I take leave.

Progress

I , namely Phani Kiran Challa, hereby announce to the world that I will seriously work on improving my skills, rather than spending time uselessly .As the first step, I have started writing mock tests, which me to reality. Though there is no need to be alarmed this early, the fact that I am making mistakes in areas that I previously thought perfect are haunting me.

I have recently taken 2 tests, whose results are yet to come out, which showed how stressing the test can be. The sheer stress of sitting upright for 2.5 hrs itself is very much, apart from the task of solving problems.

This has made me more enthusiastic and confident of the progress made by me. However, there is no consistency in my regular day to day work. I am not being punctual due to a variety of reasons, but that will change from tomorrow. Hope that this excitement continues even tomorrow and ever after.

The best day of the week, according to me, is Friday. This day Bleach and Naruto are released freshly, along with manga. It is also the day preceding Saturday, where I look forward to attend NIIT classes.

Entertainment max

I have to mention here that I have gone into reclusion, and all has been too smooth for me. I have spent this weekend watching 3 movies !

The first one was ... The Happening. It was a bare movie, with no unexpected twists, only portraying grim death ! The only point which was enjoyable was the lack of direct violence like people killing each other.

The second one was a Telugu film Ready. The print was not so good, but it was satisfactory enough to watch, and sent me into laughter a few times. Not bad at all. And it was a relief from the deaths in The Happening.

The last one and the most interesting one of these was The bridge to Terabithia. Excellent movie.
It was entertaining as well as a good mixture of creativity and emotions. I was glad I saw that movie, and keep it in mind, I do not feel that way about everything.

The last one, which is in the process of completion is The Dead Poets Society. It is said to be a very good movie. Let me see how it is.

I have not taken up the job of a movie reviewer, but I am ashamed( literally) to mention that I have no interesting things going on in life!

Let me see for a moment! We have an exam today, I have to go to IMS tomorrow, my NIIT study is pending, my hard disk is full and I have nothing to store, I am not finding time to learn German, and so on... The list seems endless.!

But what i AM doing right now is trying to become ambidextrous. That's right. Using both my left and right hand(literarily, the entire body) with ease. This seems a little hard in the beginning, but is nothing that can't come with hard work.

=================
I also completed the Bartimaeus Trilogy successfully, and am now reading Septimus Heap.
Calvin & hobbes book one was also completed."The magic of Thinking BIG" is underway

Abstraction

Who would have guessed that i would not blog for such a long time. Actually, "long time" is just a bit of an understatement. I was busy(not really) the entire week. First, I had to go to Abids and buy College textbooks. Many interesting things happened there.

I and my buddy Karthik used to go to Abids by 9 am every sunday, looking at hundreds of books , searching for the best ones among them, and bargaining strongly for very reasonable prices. All those golden days came back to me last Sunday, when I again set out with my friends, Srinath, and Karthik(of course) to purchase books. We walked all the way from Koti to Abids ( not much of a distance !!). I , curiously ,inspected every book I could see, and that meant trouble for them both. The reason was simple -- every Sunday, thousands of books are dumped on the streets and sold cheaply( once i bought Stephen King books for 5 apiece). All sorts of books are available there! Only a trained and experienced mind can stay calm there( i had 3 years of experience behind my bookshelf )

The rest of it is a long story. In the end, i yielded to the pleading of my buddies to depart for our house. That had a lot of fun and tension in it, but here's the list of books I managed to get my hands on!

1.Bartimaeus Trilogy.. book 1 ... Amulet of Samarkand 30/-
2. MCSE certification .for dummies( I am one for sure ...) 40/-
3. 3D modelling Part 5( I have the earlier parts) 25/-
4.Theory of Computation.. 10/-( really good bargain)
5.My text books for my 3rd year

That was all for the sunday.

On monday, I was happy that my modelling tutorials had been downloaded.I was pleased and started working on them right away! Not much description of them, but you can find all sorts of stuff at www.torrentz.com.

I have to leave for college.. will post soon.
P.S- I completed the amulet of samarkand already.!

I made it !

Hi ppl! My exam is finally over. The exam , which was scheduled to be at 6 p.m., was delayed by more than an hour, and I was excited to answer it ! It was an online test with 54 bits, each carrying different marks. The duration was for 110 minutes.

I successfully cleared the exam with 85 % marks. I am not particularly happy, but just aware of the fact that this very exam was postponed 4 times in  a period of 6 months , and still i managed to get 85 only.

I will not project myself as a pessimistic individual who constantly keeps nagging about better things. If that had been the case, i would have been whining about missing the opportunity of joining an IIT.

I still have a lot more to work on in this c#, but i think i'll take a break from studies this one  day. I presume  that our classes will start regularly from Monday , and I can try to purchase my textbooks today.

As a sign of my happiness, i am going to increase the content level in my posts, along with the increase in vocab usage. I will post the two paragraphs this evening...(special).
Bye for now

I presume that it is already obvious  what you are going to view is  a verbose clone of something that can be comprehended even by a duffer with a peanut sized brain. It  itself is not as important, but is critical as a prelude to something that may seem incomprehensible.
Concerning the ways and myriads of life, one can barely manage to straighten up his thoughts and walk away unscathed from the world. Why this is a universal truth ? It  lies in the fact that the world has enough to satisfy everyone's need but not everyone's greed. The completely egocentric attitude of the young people today has isolated the world into pockets of culture specific or gender specific or regional communities, where people tend to get stuck their entire life.

Linguistics places even more barriers on the communal and cultural front. Judging by the fact that we have diversity all around us it is difficult to declare or announce that a closer world is possible. I do wish to promote optimism on the global front, but my rational thinking prevent me from jumping to any mundane or morbid conclusions. Hope that my incongruous sequence jeopardized all rational thinking on your part, forcing you to compulsively follow this article with diligence and read till the end. Now call yourself a moron and wait for a few moments to realize that you have been belittled by a post, a mere incomprehensible post that tends to rack your brains and search for your non existent vocabulary. . . Before i finally bid farewell, i hope you remember that this is all the part of my daily learning endeavor, and in no way is foolishly or ostentatiously projected at the audience.
I hope that this audacity is well appreciated and  might even help you later

phanichalla.freeforums.org

Hi ppl!
Wondering what that's about ? probably you might have guessed! I have created a forum of my own, where I will be posting some things which are really useful t0 everyone, and which i like the most.
phanichalla.freeforums.org is a personal forum, official forum is tricktrick.freeforums.org
I would like interested people to visit both the sites and register if they like them.

I am preparing for my exam, so I dont have much time to spare. However, i am not going to college.. for the first time this year. I have created a set of id's for the sake of web administration and for registering to online courses. They are as follows...
phanichalla@yahoo.co.in
phanichalla@ymail.com
challa@rocketmail.com

There are a great lot of opportunities for certified professionals in the present industry. I do advice people to find a good institute and join there for certifications. If you are viewing this blog from orkut, please take time and visit the website itself at phanichalla.blogspot.com

The technical news that i learnt in the past three days is meager, but i have suddenly started developing an interest in Economics. It is fascinating, seeming to my eyes as a perfect trade off between risk and profit, between winning and achieving, and manage your accounts efficiently.

Computer networking is the only reason are watching this article, it is also the reason that i am anxiously waiting for someone to stumble upon my blog and become good friends. Such an interesting topic has been downgraded by educational societies into something that is purely theoretical.

My laptop has been my primary area of interest, and i am utilizing it effectively to progress in my career of animation. At present however, i have to drop in to www.niitstudent.com\india
to take mock tests. Bye for now.

Hi ppl! I have my NIIT first module exam on the 28th .. this saturday. We have IT fundamentals &computing,Programming Logic and techniques,C#,GUI through C# for this exam.

I am looking forward to writing it, as it is my first exam there, and also a very easy one. Apart from academics, I have begun to watch Prison Break. Awesome series, and is thrilling too.

I recently bought a p.s./2 to usb connecter and i am using my desktop keyboard and mouse for my laptop. It helps the integrated keyboard last a while longer.

I saw Hancock trailer, and it was cool. Will smith plays a superhero, and he's not a bit decent like the other heroes you think! I applied for my Niit scholarship successfully after one year . Life's too boring, with nearly no friends near my house. I do look forward to making friends, so I am starting to get in touch with all of my friends and classmates whom i ever met till now.

I am currently reading Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. I am also sparing time for activities like playing carroms and chess. About project works, i do plan to submit a lot of them . I have to start developing them yet, but i am sure I can complete them successfully.

PS. My handwriting is detoriating rapidly due to lack of practice. That's why i prefer blogging than maintaining my diary.

The vocab para is right below. Dive in!
Today's morning sky has enthralled me beyond words, so gracious and serene is the atmosphere that it makes me nostalgic .Though it is an exaggeration to assert that there have been better days, it makes no difference to a connosieur of fine arts, or a gourmet with a clean plate, as i like to imbibe the pure air and exult with joy and pride at the serenity of the morning sky. I watch as the world wakes up, stirring the cacophony and bustling of life, with silence and concentration, for i do not wish to interrupt the cycle of life, nor project myself as the kind of person indulging in a pastime that is meant for gods.

Back to college!

Hi ppl! It is starting again. The 3rd year at college seems great fun. We have Operating Systems, Computer Networking, and OOAD which are very important for a career in the IT industry. It also seems the best time for a certification in Networking from Cisco. I have to start preparation yet, but i don't think it will be too hard.

This year at college will be a bit special, because after this, we will be busy with campus placements and project work. Technically, the last year of study in B Tech.

I have seriously started working on flash too. You may be wondering how many things  i            have got my hands on. 3ds Max, Flash, Japanese, CAT,NIIT, Engineering work, web administration,Certifications, and finally linux.

I dont do them all at once, but slowly and persistently.

I am particularly alarmed that i have to waste my time in those sopoforic classes at college, listening to incompetent people trying to " finish the syllabus" rather than teaching new concepts.

Ever since started writing poetry, I have been feeling a lot better than usual. It calms me more than my oil paintings, because the words can be played with a lot lesser effort than the brush.
I have written 8 poems to date,  1 for children, and the rest on optimism and hope.

I have also started doing speed maths, one of my fav topics since my first year of engineering. It is pure fun with numbers and there are a lot of benefits associated with this one.

Finally, my one paragraph of english comes here...
I have progressed beyond mundane metaphors and  the cacophony and drudgery of daily life, and so i seek embrace in the joy and pleasure of books. Being a bibliomaniac doesn't warrant my saneness, but it will at least , in addition to improving my wisdom, provide an excellent companion that will keep me entertained. We shall part ways now, but I shall , through omniscience , locate you and bid you a farewell though the flying words

Os troubles!

Hi ppl ! guess what ! I Vista 64 bit edition on my laptop! Not much different, but i upgraded from Home Premium to Ultimate! I even tried installing OSx. I had a session with the bootloader, and successfully created a dual boot menu.
Failure
Vista was installed and the disk was having about 9 gb of free space .I had never tried OS x before and i decided to go for it .It took nearly an hour to install, and finally it came to the booting part, there was no option in the windows boot loader. I had collected some material for the worst case scenario and began reading. And there it was! A nice set of commands to create a new entry in the boot menu ! I was happy enough to do it for maybe an hour. Finally, I saw that one component needed to be there as well ! A file called chain0 was missing. I downloaded it but of no use! I decided to leave it alone for now
.... is the stepping stone for success.
Using it as a windows partition was ultimately a waste, so i decided that i should install debian on it. I proceeded, and when the installation was 70% complete, it showed an installation media failure. I was really a bad day for me ! I removed the disk, opened it in windows, a=made an image with juicesoft bad dvd repair and then burnt it onto another dvd. This time, it did not fail, and the new os loaded successfully. Now i am running a debian -vista dual boot. it is cool, but if debian had grub skins, it would have been better.
Nothing much left to say! i barely studied 2 hours yesterday, and slept most of the day!
I downloaded bleach 175, watched and deleted the episode. I also read bleach -97 online.

Max all the way!
Coming to 3DS Max 2009, i downloaded it from the autodesk website as a 32 bit version. It is too good with its new wheels. I like it. I am feeling comfortable with it now because i have a 256 mb graphics card . Rendering is all done in a sec. Lets see how it finally turns out for me..

Getting warmed up!

Hi ppl. After a lot of laziness and a 15 hr sleep, i have decided to begin my preparations for study.
As a matter of fact, i wasted my holidays (not all of them, but many...) playing Ghost Recon and AOE on lan.
Lan gaming is a really addicting experience, once you get hooked, there's no going back.

I have my semester exams in NIIT this 28th.
My college starts from the 23rd.
My Cat classes have already started.

All these mean only one thing to me.. more exams .. more study.. more fun..

My NIIT
---------
The course which i am pursuing at NIIT is a "two and a half " year course, attractively named
" Integrated ANIIT for Engineers". There are five Semesters in the course, which covers all the topics from
C# to ado.net,core & advanced java, data structures, sql srvr, testing tools and windows application development.
We have exams at the end of every semester, apart from paper presentations, project work and seminars.
My primary purpose of joining NIIT was vendor certifications. Yes, international certifications from Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Cisco and Red Hat.

About certifications
--------------------
Everyone in the computer field has to understand one fact... the technology keeps changing on a daily basis, and we cant keep track of each and every change. We wont be proficient in any field if we dont update ourselves and prove potential employers that we are well worth it. blah blah blah

Thats what everyone else would say! but not me. I believe in a factor called "self satisfaction". I would like to be a microsoft certified developer, because, apart from looking good on my profile, it also increases the satisfaction of the customer . It would open up a whole new range of possiblities. well. this is my point of view.

Other Interests
---------------,
At present i have started learning Japanese actively. Hopefully I will be bloging in jap in a few months(just kidding). It is a self study from the materials online , but having watched over 500 hrs of japanese , i feel that is is not hard to speak at all. Writing is a different issue altogether. Hoping for the best results.Let's wait and see..

My accessories
---------------
Apart from my Dell XPS, the only other electronic gadgets i own are An LG bullet mobile and a tattered PC (P4
240 gb,1.24 gb ram, 845 motherboard.)
I spend almost all of my time in front of the pc, but i do take breaks to talk. And when i start talking, the conversations extend to a greater part of 30 min when others make a call, and an obscene 30 to 40 sec whenever i call( if it is really urgent :) )
I am not particularly stingy, but only when it comes to mobiles bcos i am too lazy to go and buy a recharge card.
I never purchased a single one till now, and i own my mobile for nearly an year now !

Friday, June 20, 2008

Hi ppl. This is my photo, admittedly a low res, but i could resist posting it. One of the few ones in which i wear spectacles.
I decided to continue my education further rather than directly go for a job.
I am planning to do an MBA right in India, as it will provide me the necessary impetus and confidence to manage people and my performance in a team.
I have no intention in remaining as a mere programmer. I want to be much .much . more..than that. To fulfill my desires, I have decided to write the CAT conducted by the Indian Institutes of management.

I joined in IMS for CAT coaching. The classes are going on smoothly, and i am regularly practicing the work at home. However the level of preparation is not sufficient to get to the top. I write this sentence as a reminder to myself that i should work hard, without postponing my daily piece of study

in order to improve my vocab, as a first step, i am going to translate the above paragraph and embed it with vocab :)

i took guidance of IMS in my effort to project myself as a probable candidate for CAT.The classes are making an inintial progress.I need to reorganize or diversify in order to reach the summit. May this paragraph serve as a reminder, not to procrastinate , but to be competent and regular
